By Pat Disabato pdisabato@southtownstar.com

Alex Zaleski, a 6-foot-3, 275-pound senior, anchors St. Rita’s offensive line. The Oak Lawn resident hasn’t decided on a college yet, but counts Western Kentucky, Indiana State and North Dakota State among his suitors.

State title game. You’re in it. What team would you most like to beat for the championship? Why?

Wheaton Warrenville South. They’ve beaten us in the quarterfinals and semis, and I’d like another shot at them.

You’re on a deserted island. You could have an endless supply of one food. What would it be?

The lineman’s special (meatballs, garlic, tomato slices) at Palermo’s on 63rd Street.

What do you like most about playing on the O-line?

Being the unsung heroes. If we’re doing our jobs, the running backs and quarterback are going to do real well. Everything falls into place.

Given the chance, what person, dead or alive, would you most like to meet? Why?

Walter Payton. He was a great player and person. I’d like to find out what really happened in the book that was pretty controversial. (“The Enigmatic Life of Walter Payton”, by Jeff Pearlman).

If you could be a pro athlete in any sport other than football, what would it be and why?

Golf. It’s a non-contact sport and it’s very relaxing

What’s in your iPod?

A little of everything. Linkin Park, U2, Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift.

Ten years from now, when you’re talking about coach Todd Kuska, what’s the first thing that will come to mind?

The stopwatch he wears around his neck everywhere.

If you could have your pick, what celebrity would you choose as your prom date?

Taylor Swift.
