Simeon scored on its first three possessions to take a 22-0 halftime lead en route to a 46-2 victory Friday against Young at Rockne Stadium.
Quarterback Elcee Burke threw touchdown passes to wide receiver John Gardner of 30 and 34 yards, before scoring on a five-yard run.
No. 17 Simeon (6-1, 4-0 Red Bird) mishandled its only punt of the game early in the third quarter that resulted in a safety for Young (3-4, 0-4).
"We still are not as sharp as we should be," Simeon coach Dante Culbreath said. "We are making too many mental mistakes."
The Wolverines' scoring resumed on a 15-yard run by Sharoid Roach, followed by Burke's third touchdown pass of the game to Gardner, a 25-yarder. Burke finished the game 10-of-22 for 157 yards and three scores.
Simeon closed out the scoring in the final minutes on a blocked punt by Karlin Entoe that was returned 42 yards for a touchdown by Elijah Muhammad.
Young coach Tim Franken said his team was never able to get things going.
"[Simeon has] some really good athletes and they dominated the line of scrimmage,'' Franken said. ''We were never able to get into our offense."
