FOX VALLEY VALLEY

Outlook: Huntley enters the season as the two-time defending FVC Valley champions and in the midst of a 20-game conference winning streak. Despite losing three starters from last year’s 26-4 team, The Red Raiders remain the team to beat.

Top five players: Amanze Egekeze, Huntley, F, Jr.; Nick Geske, Crystal Lake South, G, Sr.; Nick Ledinsky, Jacobs, F, Sr.; Bryce Only, Huntley, G, Sr.; Brandon Rodriguez, Dundee-Crown, G, Sr.

Did you know? Huntley’s Amanze Egekeze, a Division I prospect who averaged 11.7 points and 5.1 rebounds last year, is out until December after undergoing surgery in late September to relieve tendonitis in his knee.

Quote: “The Fox Valley Valley Division is going to be better this year. Huntley had a great season last year and they are the definite favorite until somebody knocks them off the top.” — McHenry coach Tim Paddock

Predicted finish: Huntley, Dundee-Crown, Crystal Lake South, Jacobs, McHenry, Cary-Grove, Prairie Ridge.
