Check out the Interstate Eight outlook, predicted order of finish, top five players and more here.

INTERSTATE EIGHT

Outlook: The consensus among coaches is that Seneca is the team to beat, since the Fighting Irish return all but one of their players from last year’s regional championship team. Also watch for Lisle, Herscher and Plano.

Top five players: Conlan Callahan, Seneca, G, Jr.; Dan O’Leary, Wilmington, G/F, Sr.; Nick Peters, Coal City, C, Jr.; Jean Pietrzak, Westmont, F, Sr.; Peyton Schrag, Seneca, G, Sr.
Did you know?: Coal City has six players returning for their third season of varsity play.

Quote: “I’m pretty confident that the league will be competitive from the top down. It’s likely the league champions will have two or more losses based on the competitiveness of this league.” — Westmont coach Craig Etheridge.

Predicted finish: Seneca, Herscher, Lisle, Plano, Westmont, Manteno, Coal City, Sandwich, Wilmington, Reed-Custer, Peotone, Dwight.
