Check out the North Suburban Lake outlook, predicted order of finish, top five players and more here.

NORTH SUBURBAN LAKE

Outlook: Arguably, the NSC Lake is the most balanced seven-team league in the state. Any of the league’s teams is capable of beating the other on any given night. With Mundelein star senior Robert Knar — who averaged more than 22 points a game last season — sidelined because of an ACL injury, Lake Forest gets the nod as the favorite to take the 2012-13 league crown.

Top five players: Milik Yarbrough, Zion-Benton, F, Jr.; Jalen Brunson, Stevenson, G, So.; Evan Boudreaux, Lake Forest, F, So.; Sean O’Brien, Mundelein, F, Sr.; Sam Downey, Lake Forest, C, Sr.

Did you know? Ryan Webber replaces previous Warren coach Chuck Ramsey, who piled up more than 400 wins in 19 years at the Blue Devils helm.

Quote: “He’s one of those guys you can just say, ‘Hey, go get that guy,’ and you don’t have to do a really huge game plan for him to do it. Whoever we put him on, he shuts them down.” — Mundelein’s Robert Knar on teammate Quinn Pokora, a senior guard.

Predicted finish: Lake  Forest, Mundelein, Stevenson, Warren, Zion-Benton, Libertyville, Lake Zurich.
