MID-SUBURBAN EAST
Outlook: Prospect graduated its entire starting five from a year ago, including Mike LaTulip (Illinois). But the Knights have won the league’s sophomore title five years in a row and there never seems to be a lack of talent to replenish the varsity ranks. Six-foot-4 junior Bobby Frasco has an offer from Boston University and interest from a couple of Ivy League schools and Northern Illinois. A player to watch for the Knights is 6-4 junior Danny Thomas, the leading scorer on last year’s sophomore team.
Top five players: Austin Amann, Elk Grove, 6-1, G, Sr.; Bobby Frasco, Prospect, 6-4, G, Jr.; Devin O’Hara, Prospect, 6-5, F, Sr.; Luke Potnick, Buffalo Grove, 6-1, G, Jr.; Jeremy Stephani, Wheeing, 6-0, G., Jr.
Did you know? Prospect’s 6-5 forward Devin O’Hara was the starting quarterback on the team that nearly upset Wheaton North in the second round of the Class 7A football playoffs.
Quote: ‘‘Even with the loss of Mike LaTulip and Brad Reibel, we will not be looking to slow it down at all this year. We have players who are able to get early high percentage shots and we will look to
score early and often.” – Prospect coach Mike Camardella.
Predicted finish: Prospect, Elk Grove, Hersey, Buffalo Grove, Wheeling, Rolling Meadows.
