Tom Mitchell, the winningest football coach in Brother Rice High School history, died Tuesday after an apparent heart attack.
He was 72.
Mitchell amassed a 170-95 mark over a 26-year career, including the Class 6A state championship in 1981. He also guided the Crusaders to a second-place finish in 6A in 1985. He retired in 1992.
