Riverside-Brookfield coach Tom McCloskey didn't forget what happened against Marshall in a sectional semifinal in 2010.

A buzzer-beating prayer ended the Bulldogs' season that night. Saturday the Bulldogs faced the Commandos for the first time since.

Though it wasn't as meaningful a game, it still felt like revenge after the Bulldogs pulled out a 62-54 win in the Billinger Memorial Shootout at Young.

"Coach reminded us of it all week and he couldn't wait to play them again," R-B senior Miki Ljuboja said.

Ljuboja finished with 22 points and 13 rebounds. The 6-foot-8 center did most of his damage inside. He refined his game over the summer, working on his three-point shot. He has hit over 20 three-pointers, including two against the Commandos (17-9) after not even attempting a three last season.

Damonta Henry added 16 points for the Bulldogs (16-5) while teammate Eric Loury chipped in 12.

"Anytime you beat a Chicago Public League team that's a good win," McCloskey said.

It didn't come easy.

The Commandos led 18-12 after a quarter, 32-30 at the half and 44-39 late in the third. That's when the Bulldogs took control for good behind a 14-0 run to lead 53-46 midway through the fourth.

Ljuboja had five points during the run, including one of his three's. Cris Craig had 14 points -- 10 in the first half -- while Citron Miller added 10 for the Commandos.

"I'm glad we got this win against a good city team," Ljuboja said. "This can be a huge momentum builder for us."
