The previous two seasons, H-F’s basketball teams were ranked No. 1 in the preseason but never advanced beyond sectionals. What did you learn from those experiences?
That nothing is given to you. You have to work hard, no matter how much talent you have.

How do your parents respond when they hear the music you listen to?
They want me to turn it off instantly.
What type of music do your parents listen to?
Older music and gospel. Prince, Michael Jackson, the Temptations. That stuff just doesn’t work for me. I’ll fall asleep.
State title game. You’re in it. What team would you most like to beat for the championship? Why?
Simeon. They’re the most hyped team and supposedly the most talented.
