The 6-foot senior guard has come into his own this season and leads the Steelmen in scoring, averaging 14.9 points a game. He had the best game of his career Jan. 18 at Bolingbrook in a 55-51 overtime victory. That win not only put a stamp on the Central program, but elevated Heath’s season as well.
How did that performance at Bolingbrook change your season?
People are starting to press me a little more.
Why is the SouthWest Suburban Blue so tough?
They’re huge. Have you seen them? Every team has size, and the big guys just rule. But it’s good experience for playing at the next level.
If you had the athletic ability to play any sport what would it be?
I used to play baseball. That was my love and I’d like to go back to it. I was a pitcher/catcher/shortstop, but I stopped playing in eighth grade. I just lost my love for it. I’d probably try soccer, too. It looks like it’s challenging and it would be hard to control the ball with your feet and not use your hands.
Why do you think you lost interest in baseball?
I got more involved in basketball and I had been playing that longer, since the sixth grade, and it just became my No. 1 sport. I just felt better playing it and more confident.
How much do you use social media?
I don’t do Facebook, but I’m on Twitter. I don’t really tweet that much, but I go on there to see what everyone else is doing and to see what’s trending.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
California and France.
If you had a day to yourself to do anything, what would it be?
I would probably wake up early, and I’d get McDonald’s and just chill.
