The Chicago Public has realigned the boys basketball conferences for the 2013-14 season. There is a new White conference and the signature Red conference has been trimmed from ten teams to six.
While everybody associated with Waukegan basketball wants to play fast, the program is really playing a waiting game right now, waiting for the official announcement of who’s being brought in to replace the departed Ron Ashlaw.
As one of the 19 seniors on the Hinsdale Central lacrosse roster, Chase Arima left quite an impression on both coach Tom McBride and the Red Devils this spring.
Ronnie Fields, a name all basketball fans in the area are familiar with from the superstar’s days at Farragut in the mid-1990s, will also be part of Malnati's coaching staff.

Mike Kornacker had a season that will be difficult to duplicate. On the mound the St. Laurence right-hander was 7-1 — including two perfect games — with a 0.97 ERA. Five of his seven wins were shutouts.
