Benet’s Jack Beneventi received a scholarship from Notre Dame and St. Charles North offensive lineman Chase Gianacakos committed to Michigan State in this week’s recruiting roundup.
In Pat McInerney’s four-year varsity career, Benet went 104-17. As a player with a feverish work ethic and a varied skill set, he helped lead Benet to a 27-6 record this year and is the Naperville Sun Player of the Year.

Lindsy Kendrick's goal with 21:07 left in the first half was the difference for Benet in a 1-0 victory over Glenbard West at Benedictine University on Thursday.
Benet is hoping that a solid core of four and a significant amount of young athletic players will make up for a loss of veteran leadership this season.
Benet sophomore quarterback Jack Beneventi is considering a scholarship offer he receieved last week to become a part of Illinois coach Tim Beckman’s plans to transform the Illini into an in-state powerhouse.
Benet won 27 games this season, highlighted by its third outright East Suburban Catholic Conference title in the last four years and also third regional title in the last four years.

West Aurora struggled offensively, but got it done when it counted from the free-throw line on its way to a 42-38 win over Benet at the Class 4A Bolingbrook Sectional final Friday.
Benet played its traditional tight defense in its sectional final against West Aurora, falling just short 42-38. The game included 55 free throws, 36 of which were shot by West Aurora.
