Lincoln-Way North clinched at least a share of the SouthWest Suburban Red title for the third consecutive year by downing division foe Andrew 3-0 Wednesday.
Johnny Griffin was the best player on the floor Friday night, netting 18 points and nine rebounds as Bloom outlasted Lincoln-Way North 54-47 for the Class 4A Thornwood Regional championship.
Marian Catholic diver Joey Cifelli claimed the state runner-up medal Saturday at New Trier with a 443.60 total, finishing only a few points behind state champion Brandis Heffner, of Normal (447.25).

Tre Lewis scored 17 points and Cody Murphy added 14 points and nine rebounds as Lincoln-Way North held off host Stagg 64-61 Friday. The win gives the Phoenix a share of their first SouthWest Suburban Red title in program history.

Rayshaun Bruce scored 11 points, including two layups and two free throws in the final 2:13 to lead host Thornton to a 50-45 win Tuesday over Lincoln-Way North. The win assures the Wildcats at least a share of the SouthWest Suburban Red title.

Skip Adamson, who has coached the Lincoln-Way co-op boys gymnastics team to either a first or second-place finish in seven of the previous eight state meets, will not be coaching the team in 2013.
Jake Pearson and Tony Mikrut each won two events and swam on two relays that also qualified for the state finals in leading host Lincoln-Way North to the sectional title with 254.5 points.
