Lincoln-Way East won 11 events and scored 168 points to claim the conference title over runner-up Homewood-Flossmoor (102) and third-place Lockport (81) in Saturday's SouthWest Suburban Blue meet.
Sandburg needed every champion it could get at the SouthWest Suburban Blue Tournament and the Eagles used a late push to edge Lockport 74-72 to grab the team title.
Lockport took home its first Brother Rice tourney title with an 8-7 win over Hinsdale Central on Saturday in what could only be described as a playoff-like atmosphere.

Lockport bested Minooka 10-0 in the marquee matchup of the "Make Your Mark Strike Out Cancer Day." The all-day event featured baseball games between Lockport and Minooka on various levels, while Downers North and Peotone joined Lockport in the softball extravaganza.

Kaetlyn Hernandez is a 16-year-old junior at Lockport that has begun a non-profit organization called ScholarHoops that will raise college scholarship money for area basketball players.
Lockport (26 points) notched five runner-up finishes and placed second in its own loaded 12-team badminton tournament on Saturday. T.F. South claimed the title with 31 points.
A day after suffering its first loss of the season, Lockport took its frustrations out on Lincoln-Way West as Dan Oldendorf scored five times and seven other Porters scored in a 16-5 SouthWest Suburban crossover victory.
