Kaylan Mills scored a goal from nine yards out early in the first half powering Oswego to a 1-0 win over Plainfield South on Monday in Southwest Prairie Conference action.
St. Charles North dropped the first set of the West Aurora Tournament finals against Schaumburg, 25-27, but came back to post 25-18 and 25-11 wins to take home the tournament crown and improve to 5-0.

Oswego’s Elliott McGaughy and Miles Simelton combined to lead the Panthers to a 28-win season. The top two scorers in the Panther’s program history have been selected Beacon-News Co-Players of the Year.

Darion Reddick doesn’t get as much attention as his celebrated teammates, Miles Simelton and Elliott McGaughy, but the Oswego senior’s aggressive style of play has provided a big boost to the top-seeded Panthers this season.
Led by senior Darion Reddick’s 15 points, Oswego placed four players in double figures and remained unbeaten in the Southwest Prairie with a 65-46 victory over Plainfield North.
Down by four to Oswego at halftime, Metea Valley opened the third quarter of Tuesday’s Class 4A Metea Valley Regional semifinal on a 10-2 run and never looked back, picking up a 51-43 win.
