Newman Central Catholic built a two-touchdown only to see host Wilmington mount a fourth quarter comeback that came up short as the Comets defeated the Wildcats 28-26 in the quarterfinals of the Class 3A playoffs.

Mike Wolfe rushed for 182 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries to lead Wilmington to a 31-14 win against Byron Saturday in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs.
Wilmington quarterback Sean Liaromatis threw touchdowns of 14, 30 and 33 yards and was 5-of-7 for 126 yards while running back Chris Tworek rushed for 94 yards to help lead the Wildcats to a commanding 48-6 win over Reed-Custer Friday.
