Three-sport athlete D.J. Deolitsis turns his attention to setting the table for the Hinsdale South baseball team this spring. Last season, the speedy left fielder swiped 31 bags for the Hornets.
Most teams are lucky to have one good sprinter. Hinsdale South has two, Gunnar Wagner and Austin Hultmark. They are using each other to make the other better as the season progresses.

Maddie Nowak grew up watching gymnastics. Nowak and her mother, Sam, were regular spectators at Fremd gymnastics meets to see Maddie’s cousins, who rank among the best gymnasts in state history and led the Vikings to four state championships in seven years.
After finishing 5-4, but narrowly missing the playoffs last season, Hinsdale South won six games during this regular season to earn its first playoff berth since 2005.

The Bengals piled up 364 yards of total offense, all but 20 coming on the ground, during a dominant 29-0 win over Hinsdale South in the 6A first round playoff matchup Friday in Oak Forest.
