Lincoln-Way East senior Aaliyah Brown completed a remarkable career Saturday by winning the 100, 200 and anchoring the victorious 400- and 800-meter relay teams as the Griffins (79 points) claimed the Class 3A title at Eastern Illinois University’s O’Brien Field.

After winning the 100 and the 400 in Saturday's Class 2A state meet at Eastern Illinois, Shamier Little was edged out in the 300 hurdles East St. Louis' Markita Rush. But the Lindblom star came back to win the 200 in four-hundredths of a second.

The Public League has shifted its premier event, the boys basketball tournament, all over the city the last few years. With a potential brand-new arena near McCormick Place, the Public League might finally have a place to call home.
Fenwick pulled away from state tournament host Stevenson in Saturday’s boys water polo state title game for a 10-4 win to regain the top spot in the state. The Friars have won 10 of the 12 state championships since water polo became an IHSA sport in 2002.
St. Ignatius pulled off the first team state championship in the school's 144-year history Saturday as the Wolfpack outlasted Stanford-bound Danijela Jackovich and Lincoln-Way Central, 12-9.
Lane won its seventh consecutive Public League title Saturday, defeating Young 6-2 at UIC. The Indians have won 14 of the last 16 Public League titles.
Host Stevenson captured sectional titles in both singles and doubles Saturday en route to 27 points, more than double that of runner-up Libertyville (12).

Second-seeded Lyons beat seventh-seeded Glenbard East 3-0 for the Lyons Regional championship in Western Springs after a loss in last year's regional final ended a nine-year run of regional titles.
Naperville Central's mindset is all about getting ready to play on Saturday mornings for the playoffs. Playing on the final Saturday of the regular season, the No. 10 Redhawks defeated York 8-0 in Elmhurst.

The IHSA on Wednesday released its new Football Acclimatization Policy, which will govern how often and how long teams can work out at the start of the preseason, along with what equipment they can wear. The concept is to protect the players, but it doesn't come without some contradictions.
