T.F. South recorded 16.5 points to top Naperville Central (12 points) and claim the first state badminton title in program history — just the second girls championship ever for the school Saturday at Eastern Illinois.

Josh Meier had 20 points, 12 rebounds and was warned with about four minutes remaining to stop dunking for fear the rim would break as Richards defeated host Reavis 76-68 Friday. The win was Bulldogs coach John Chappetto’s 200th.
Edward Puha hit the game-winner with .5 left to give Reavis the 35-33 win over Evergreen Park Friday night. It’s Reavis’ second last-second win in the past week.
