Senior-stacked St. Charles North takes home West Aurora crown

St. Charles North dropped the first set of the West Aurora Tournament finals against Schaumburg, 25-27, but came back to post 25-18 and 25-11 wins to take home the tournament crown and improve to 5-0.

  • Oswego’s Elliott McGaughy and Miles Simelton combined to lead the Panthers to a 28-win season. The top two scorers in the Panther’s program history have been selected Beacon-News Co-Players of the Year.

  • Josh McAuley converted the game-winning dunk off a Spencer Thomas pick-and-roll pass late in the fourth quarter, and West Aurora held off Oswego 61-60 Wednesday in a Class 4A Bolingbrook Sectional semifinal.
