Nazareth’s Kayla Freeman drained her second game-winning three-point shot of the season in a 47-44 win over Aurora Central Catholic Feb. 14 in the Class 3A St. Joseph Regional final in Westchester.
Glenbard South dug itself a 15-point hole, but came back for a 44-35 win in the first sectional semifinal at Nazareth. Nazareth had no field goals in the second half.
Nazareth got a three-pointer at the buzzer to defeat Aurora Central 47-44 and win the Class 3A St. Joseph Regional Thursday evening. Freeman ended up with 14 points in the win.
While the Nazareth Roadrunners are not looking past their regional opposition, they have a loftier goal: They want to return home for the sectional round.
