Homewood-Flossmoor girls basketball coach Dana Noble, who guided the Vikings to a 63-25 record and two regional titles over three seasons, was not rehired by the school to coach next season.
Marian Catholic was greeted by several hundred fans at Marian’s Leadership Center on Sunday upon returning from Normal, Ill. after its Class 4A state championship win over Rolling Meadows on Saturday.

Chicago Heights neighbors, Marian Catholic and Bloom, will square off in the first of two Class 4A Mother McAuley Sectional semifinals on Tuesday. Marist will try to avenge an earlier season loss to the host Mighty Macs in the second semifinal.
Eleventh-seeded Oak Park-River Forest’s 70-54 win over Bogan in the Hinsdale Central Regional Friday guaranteed three double-digit seeds a spot in the sectional semifinals. Oak Park plays Young Monday evening.
Morgan Park recovered from a 17-point third-quarter deficit by attacking the basket and picking up the intensity on defense for a 67-55 come-from-behind win over Bogan in a Public League semifinal Wednesday.

Brother Rice named Rick Harrigan, Class 2002, its basketball coach on Friday. Harrigan was named the Catholic League’s Most Outstanding Player his senior season, as well as Lawless Award winner in 2002.
